The LiveCode for FM plugin made a big leap forward today, with the release of the Windows compatible version for both 32 and 64 bit Windows. Now all you Window’s users of FileMaker can start trying out LiveCode functionality inside your FileMaker solutions! The Mac plugin has also been updated with the latest LiveCode engine and another piece of exciting new functionality:
New Component: Dropbox
We’ve added a brand new component to our range of pre-built functionality. You can now connect direct to Dropbox from your FileMaker app. Upload and download files, even access a database held in Dropbox. Use this component as your template to access other web services. The Dropbox component makes use of LiveCode’s OAuth2 library to authorize your application’s access to user data. It shows how easy it is to access web services in LiveCode and provides functions for uploading and downloading files to your Dropbox account. The library includes a dialog for selecting files and folders in the user’s Dropbox account.
LiveCode Ltd will be at the FileMaker DevCon in Phoenix, Arizona, this July. Come and see us at booth 20! We’d love to talk to you. During the conference we are offering a limited number of completely free face to face training places for purchasers of the LiveCode for FM beta product. You need to purchase before the end of the beta cycle to get your free training. To sign up for training, tick the box labelled “LiveCode For FM Training Session At DevCon Arizona” at the checkout when buying your LiveCode for FM license – if you can’t see the box then sorry, we’ve run out of places.
This is still a beta, and there is a known issue with this release. XPDF on Win32 64-bit doesn’t display pages properly – only thumbnails. This affects our PDF component. We will address this in a later release. If you encounter other issues in this beta, please report them via the Quality Center.
