Over the last few weeks our team has been hard at work. While the developers have been head down working like crazy on the tech, our marketing guys have been out and about, spreading the word about LCFM Native. We have attended FileMaker conferences in Liechtenstein, London, Ghent, Madrid and Tokyo, demoing our software and talking to customers and future customers.
Beta 2 is out! This new beta release of LCFM Native brings support for iOS deployment to the LCFM Native Compiler tool. Our team is hard at work on all aspects of the tool. In the near future, the beta will start using our revised compiler, parser and runtime, at which point you will start to see results when running multi-file projects.
If you haven’t done so already, check out the fantastic podcast from the team at Adatasol.
We had the great pleasure of meeting David Case, Head of Operations at Adatasol at this year’s DevCon in Dallas, Texas.
Over a beautiful bottle of Scottish Whisky David interviewed LiveCode CEO Kevin Miller and CTO Mark Waddingham about LCFM Native.
You can listen to this interview on their podcast here. Be sure to subscribe to their podcast for all future updates on the FileMaker Database and Application Development Platform with subjects including development with FileMaker, extending FileMaker, FileMaker trends and history.
Work on the LCFM Native compiler is continuing apace. We hope to bring you Beta 2 soon, but in the meantime, we know many of you can’t wait to see your solutions compiling for Android. Working with the feedback we have received (thanks to everyone who has sent in the errors generated by the compiler!) we have added some new information to the user guide to help you get a single file solution working in the Beta 1 runtime,
Our team are here in Dallas for FileMaker DevCon and we’re delighted to be able to announce that beta 1 of LCFM Native is now available to download. If you’re one of our original campaign backers, you should have received an email about this with download instructions. If you’re not a campaign backer, please go and get a compiler license here to get involved in our beta program.
We are hard at work developing LCFM Native here in Edinburgh. It’s an exciting and engaging process, requiring the very best of our talented development team. The core of our compiler architecture is complete, which means that we are racing through adding features. New capabilities are coming to the compiler literally every day. We’re now able to give you a broad road map of what to expect at each phase of the beta process. I’ll be able to update you with a new blog post every week now as we move through the beta stages.
We’re very excited to bring you an update on the progress we’ve made towards LiveCode for FM Native. We have an initial version of the tool which, although not quite ready yet, is getting very close to something we’re ready to release.
